I felt like if I ever were to shoot street style my first choice would be Venice. Definitely. But felt pretty sad for not having that 'obligation' at the moment. Anxious I was.
Drove by car 2 hours, more or less from near Bologna. Just when you see Porto on the ground, on the signs, everywhere, you see lots of sights from the industrial area o something of the kind. You find yourself anxious. Steel and metals, I don't know. And then, out of nowhere and without a warning or so , you get hid by a view that comes before you. The port of Venice. And a smell like no other. You feel alive, present, eager for more and happy. A smell like no other.
Venice felt like home.
- Outfit. Pretty basic but with key pieces.
- In Venice you begin to ask other questions as compared with other places.
- I sat on the stairs of a church by myself listening to parts of someone's phone conversation. I believe he was a student or someone preparing his diploma or some study. I only wanted to sit quietly. After that I stood up, walked in the church with my friends and then I went outside again for the feeling and the view I had before me while sitting on the old stairs. The moment I sat down the one that I stared at and listened to his conversation was leaving, looked back, smiled and went on, left. This being a smile I will not forget. Not sure why but it will stay with me for a while.
- What was indeed something new was the fact that I met Jess (Tuula). I was off the Internet for a new because that's that I do when I'm on holiday so I did not know she was in Venice too, of all places in the world. So here I was just looking around on a side street and I see her. I stare for some moments then I tell my friend and she was : Are you sure? And even to this day I'm amazed that the Internet got us knowing even the way someone's fingers look like. What do you mean am I sure?! I knew I would regret not going up to her so that's what I did. I smile happily thinking about it.
I only with I could have seen the city by night too.
